Lutz began as a small train stop north of Tampa, circa 1909, and
officially became Lutz with the establishment of the post office in 1913.
The Lutz Community values its semi-rural character with the
"feeling" and "image" of openness for which it has become known.
Residents have a strong connection to their heritage, the community's history,
wildlife and surrounding natural systems. We have a commitment to independence and
individuality. And, we continually strive to preserve these things that together
support our lifestyle.
